And this is just on their appearances!

Seems treat yo’self has become our motto of choice here in Ireland – that’s according to a survey commissioned by Great Lengths Hair Extensions anyway.

53% of women spend between €200-€300 on their festive glam – including hair, clothes, tan, nails, eyebrows and shoes, while 14% of us spend in excess of €400. Seems pretty excessive right? But when you think of the amount of glam nights out, work-related events, family events and all those other in-between events, the bill does add up.

But not to worry gals, it’s only at this time of year. According to the survey, 77% of women put more effort into their appearance coming up to the holiday season than at any other time of the year. Why, you ask? Well because of all the parties to attend and those #candid photos being taken left, right and center.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like us Irish women will hit the shops big time in the lead up to silly season with 91% of us buying new clothes specifically for the festivities and 89% of women spending over a week looking for the perfect Christmas office party outfit.

69% of women admitted they will get their hair tended to professionally for the silly season, including highlights, cuts, blow-dries and extensions. 76% of women will get more than two professional beauty treatments in the run up to Christmas including hair, nails and tan.

We never thought we’d say it but we’re kinda of glad Christmas only comes around once a year- and so is our bank balance.
