Netflix; a word which here means “the film and television entertainment company which has both ruined and made our lives”.

Ah, Lemony Snickett – what a genius he was. If like us, you were addicted to the books (yes, we were a tab bit too old to be reading them but no judgements, right?), then you’ll be delighted to hear of the latest and greatest offer from Netlix.

Lemony Snickett’s: A Series Of Unfortunate Events is coming to the red screen this January and will follow the lives of the – erm – unfortunate, Baudelaire siblings; Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, after their parents’ untimely death in a fire. The show will star the amazing Neil Patrick Harris as the evil, money-grabbing Count Olaf – a distant relative they are forced to co-habit with following the death of their parents.

The series is created by Daniel Handler, author of the original Lemony Snickett books, and produced by Barry Sonnenfeld, creator of The Addams Family. Eh, match made in heaven for the series or what?

Yes yes, the series is probably created for children of all ages but what better excuse to babysit the nieces and nephews than this?

The big drop is on January 17th so clear the calendar for (yet another) Netflix binge.
